The Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences (PACS) at Washington University School of Medicine offers academic, clinical, and research programs in the fields of audiology, deaf education, and speech and hearing sciences research, leading to the following degrees:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.)
- Master of Science in Deaf Education (M.S.D.E.)
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) — Speech and Hearing Sciences
An undergraduate minor in speech and hearing sciences is also available to qualified students through Washington University in St. Louis, College of Arts & Sciences.

Medicine, PACS students benefit from on-campus academic, clinical, and research programs related to the fields of hearing and deafness, as well as the on-campus Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) school. Graduate students work side by side with other students, studying the underlying processes of speech, language, and hearing and their disorders, as well as with leading researchers, clinicians, teachers of the deaf, and faculty members.
