Applicants to the AuD and MSDE programs are required to complete a video interview for admission consideration.
The video interview is a brief, asynchronous assessment during which you’ll be asked to submit video responses to three pre-recorded questions. This interview gives us the opportunity to meet you (virtually) and get a sense of your background, interests, and what you are looking for in a graduate program. You will access the interview online, on your own time, from a laptop or PC equipped with a webcam, microphone, and keyboard; smartphones and tablets are not supported.
There are no right or wrong answers, so just relax and be yourself!
The video interview process is simple:
- Your personalized link to the online video interview will be generated within the Washington University Graduate Admissions Portal after you submit your application.
- You can register first and then complete your interview immediately or at a later time. When registering, please use the same name and email address as you used in your application for admission.
- Before you begin the formal interview, you will have access to practice questions. These are designed to increase your comfort with the online system and you will be allowed to take unlimited practice questions over multiple sessions, until you’re comfortable and ready to complete the formal interview.
- For the formal interview, you will be asked three separate questions, presented one at a time.
- Before you answer each question, you will be given a set amount of time to prepare and then a set amount of time to respond.
- You will have one opportunity to respond and your response to each question will be recorded and submitted to the Admissions and Scholarship Committee as part of your application.
- All questions and responses will be oral; there are no written assessments.
- The interview typically takes 15-20 minutes to complete and may be done on your own schedule.
- You must complete the formal video interview in its entirety in one sitting.
- The video interview must be complete in order for your application to be considered complete.
