New! Policy Changes for 2024 Commencement!

WashU has implemented several policy changes for the safety and convenience of our community during the University-Wide ceremony on Danforth as well as the school recognition ceremonies on both Danforth and the Medical School campuses.

Please be sure to read these changes before coming to campus on May 13, 2024.

PACS Commencement Luncheon

PACS will host a lunch honoring our Class of 2024 graduates. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m., May 13, 2024, in the Eric P. Newman Center in Great Rooms A/B. A separate invite for RSVPs will be sent to our graduates, faculty, staff, and students.


PACS Recognition Ceremony

The Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences will recognize the graduating Class of 2024 during an in-person Commencement Recognition Ceremony that will be held at the Eric P. Newman Center in the Main Auditorium. The ceremony will begin on May 13, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. (CDT). Students, family, friends, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

Tickets are not required. Seats are available first-come, first-served

The Procession

Candidates should march in alphabetical order by respective program.

  • By 12:30 p.m., all candidates must be at the assembly point designated by PACS to go over details and logistics.
  • The procession will begin at 1:30 p.m. sharp, led by the Director of the Programs and other PACS faculty.

The Ceremony

The program begins with the Commencement welcome by the Director of Audiology/Co-Program Director, followed by the presentation of degrees and hooding ceremony.

The Recession

  • All graduates will recess from the Main Auditorium following the PACS Directors.
  • Graduates should arrange to meet friends and relatives in the EPNEC lobby after photographs have been taken.
  • Graduates will return to the main auditorium for photographs (GRADUATES ONLY).
  • Family and friends should recess immediately following graduating students to the lobby.

The ceremony typically concludes no later than 2:30 p.m.

Reception immediately following the ceremony in the lobby of EPNEC.


Parking

Parking will be very limited on the Danforth and Medical School campuses during the Commencement Ceremonies; please take this into consideration when you are making your plans for the day.  You may wish to take MetroLink if you are able to.  Parking will be available in the Metro Garage down the street from EPNEC.  It is located at the corner of Taylor and Children’s place at 4560 Children’s Place.  You are requested to park on levels 6-7.

We will be live-streaming the ceremony and invite students, faculty, staff, family, and friends to watch. Click on the Commencement image below to be directed to the PACS Recognition Ceremony, which will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. (CDT).

Livestreaming will start at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) with the ceremony beginning at 1:30 p.m.


The All-University Commencement Ceremony

The All-University Commencement Ceremony is separate from the PACS Recognition Ceremony. The university-wide ceremony celebrates all graduates from Washington University. The ceremony is scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. (CDT) in the Frances Olympic Field on the Danforth Campus.
